News & Events

04

I am very excited for a new year. 2010 is poised to be a great year for conservatives. Democrats are running for cover and running from the liberal agenda of Barak Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. The tide of switching parties has already begun. Election-year gains are a certainty with only the number up for debate.

Who can blame them? Few want to be associated with the record of spending, waste, favoritism, abuse of power, attacks on the Constitution, growth of government, rush toward socialism, and championing every liberal agenda in the name of climate change while ignoring the science, etc coming from the Obama Whitehouse. And now we have a near catastrophic collapse of security and a “point your finger of blame” attitude from the Administration. What’s next?

Republicans will lead out to counter this march toward socialism by championing conservative principles and strong support only to those committed to our platform and party constitution. There are clear differences between the parties; especially here locally. Every vote counts so don’t be lulled into complacency by those who claim Utah is a one-party state or that a local Democrat is not the same as a national Democrat. Last I checked, Congressman Matheson voted for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker and you can also read up on the government-run health care supported by the Utah County Democrats. Let’s reject this liberalism.

Party is about principles. And the UCRP is about individuals joining together to protect the Constitution and defend the family. Here are a few of the many ways you can help: we are excited about our annual Lincoln Dinner fundraiser coming up on Feb 6 at UVU. Visit www.UtahLincolnDinner.com to learn more and reserve your seat. We also have the neighborhood Caucuses on March 23 and the Nominating Convention on April 24. Get involved. Don’t hope that someone else will step up to protect the future; it’s up to you.
